Zodiac Aerospace joins the fight against hypoxia

As part of Project HOPE (Hypoxia Oxygen and Pressurization Experience) launched in July by Daher, Zodiac Aerospace is supplying its pilot EROS® masks to equip the altimeter chamber.

Hypoxia is the decrease in the concentration of oxygen in the blood, i.e. a state in which the oxygen level of an organism is insufficient, which can lead to loss of consciousness or even death. Preventing hypoxia is a major safety priority for pilots.
The Daher* HOPE program was set up to prevent the risk of hypoxia by providing training to new TBM aircraft pilots at the Southern AeroMedical Institute (SAMI) in Florida. Training takes place in an altimeter chamber, in which a cockpit has been installed, equipped with our EROS® oxygen masks.
In particular, this training enables pilots of these aircrafts to learn how to properly use the masks we provide. It is also an opportunity for Zodiac Aerospace to get direct feedback from users.

* Daher is an equipment manufacturer that develops Integrated Industrial Systems for aerospace and advanced technologies. Its most notable product is the TBM900 business turboprop.
